Live Resin Hemp-Derived Terpenes

Live Resin terpenes are extracted from fresh-frozen, Farm Bill compliant flower that is specifically grown for flavor. Live Resin terpenes capture the plant’s full range of natural flavors and aromas at their peak. This results in a more authentic, vibrant, and true-to-the-plant experience for consumers.

Hemp-derived terpenes are extracted from Farm Bill compliant flower. They do not contain THC or other cannabinoids.

Hemp terpenes are legal to sell, ship, and transport across state lines under the 2018 Farm Bill. The Farm Bill also protects the right to import and export hemp products internationally, into and by countries in which hemp and international hemp trade are legal. Live Resin can be used to add flavor and encourage the entourage effect in any application, including live resin, concentrates, and distillate. It's a great way to create a premium consumer experience with pre-rolls, vape, concentrate, and more-and it can even reduce losses when used to revitalize tired flower. Working with bulk product? Start with a lower percentage and add as needed to achieve the desired experience.

• Vape*: 1-5% of total volume. Allow terpenes to steep in distillate for 24 hours before filling carts. Allow distillate to steep inside vape cart for 24 hours before taste testing.
• Concentrate: 1-5% of total volume. Allow terpenes to steep for 24 hours.
• Edibles: 1-3% of total volume. Depending on the type of edible (gummies, chocolates, etc.) this may vary.
• Beverages: Most of our customers would recommend about 0.5ml for every 20,000 ml (20 L). Our terpenes are oil soluble but when paired with an emulsifier (a type of surfactant), they can be used in beverages. Spirits are a little different and easier to work with and don't necessarily need an emulsifier.

Most clients prefer to add the terpenes just after brewing, before fermentation, and after any vigorous mixing to avoid foaming.

Whenever formulating with any True Terpenes products, we strongly recommend testing a small batch first before working at scale. Differences in distillate as well as storage and handling practices at your facility can have an impact on end result, so it's always good practice to test in your own conditions, in the final form factor. (In other words, make a few carts or pre-rolls and taste them before making a large batch.)

Terpenes are highly concentrated and must always be diluted for use. See "How much should I use?" for mixing guidance. Terpenes are typically added after any heating or vigorous mixing process. If higher heat is required to bring concentrate to a mixable state, allow it to cool to within the temperature limit recommendation range before adding terpenes. Avoid subjecting terpenes to high heat, as it can cause a loss of aromatic compounds and modification of the compounds.

Temperature limit recommendations:

• D9: 70-80°C
• D8: 70-80°C
• CBD: 50-60°C

• Live Resin bottles should always be tightly sealed when not in use. If possible, purge the headspace of each bottle with nitrogen after each use
• Store in a refrigerator (2-8 °C), protected from light
• Do not leave bottles out in the sun
• Bottles should be brought back to room temperature before use
