Heylo Cannabis Teams Up With True Terpenes

Daniel Luebke for True Terpenes

In late 2017, the Heylo team spent months formulating a new topical that could provide more immediate relief and a deeper level of therapy than existing topicals on the market. It was a personal mission of Lo Friesen, founder and Chief Extractor at Heylo, to create a product that could provide relief to her, her family and her community. Furthermore, she wanted to develop a product that was as affordable as possible to increase access for all who stood to benefit. The result of this ambition was Heylo Comotion Balm.

Since our founding, Heylo has recognized the value of terpenes in our vape pens and oils. We produce premium CO2 vape pens rich in native terpenes, striving to preserve the light, volatile compounds that add to the depth of experience with cannabis, as well as the plant’s medical benefits. We made a major breakthrough in our development of Heylo Comotion when we applied a terpene-forward philosophy to our topicals. Heylo Comotion starts with a terpene-rich high-CBD (2:1) extract along with Organic waxes and oils. We supplement this mixture with True Terpenes beta-Caryophyllene, and the “magic” begins.

Beta-Caryophyllene is a sesquiterpene that is incredibly effective at combating inflammation through the endocannabinoid system, comprising of the body’s largest organ – the skin. It also has analgesic properties, potentially helping to relieve chronic pain and neuropathy (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11482764/). By using beta-Caryophyllene from True Terpenes, Heylo is making our product more effective for users. This makes the Heylo team proud to put this ingredient on the label and continue experimenting with new topical products that incorporate True Terpenes.
